[ He looks over at him, eying him quietly for a long moment. And then, he nods, lowering the toy for Wagahai to continue to bat at. ]

Of course I would.

[He smiles brightly at that.] All right. Let me go get my coat then. [He'll get up and proceed to his room.]

[ Asougi goes to do the same, giving Wagahai one last pat on the head before heading up. He heads to his room, picking up his coat and pulling it on, and then scoops up the scarf Naruhodou gave him for the holidays as well as gloves and a hat, stepping back out after a moment to wait for his friend. ]

[He'd probably worn that scarf several times before and Naruhodou hadn't been around to see it. So when he exits his room in the midst of putting on his gloves, it'll be the first time he's seen Asougi wear his gift.]

Ah, that looks good on you. [He sounds pleased by this.]

Hmm? — oh, right. [ He looks down at the scarf at that, then back over at Naruhodou to give him a smile. ] It's comfortable, too.

I'm glad! It only took me two attempts to make a proper scarf. [He's so happy that the area brightens a little, getting warmer. Once he gets his gloves on, he'll come over to take his friend's hand, tugging him slightly towards the door.]

Shall we head out then?

[exchangeable]

[ He takes Naruhodou's hand firmly in his and nods. ]

Let's go, partner. Though you'll have to lead the way.

[He laughs.] Isn't it usually the other way around? [Well he doesn't mind and gladly guide him through Verens.]

Have you been through the park yet?

[exchangeable]

[ He shakes his head at that, glancing around as they walk. ]

I've seen it in passing, but I haven't had any reason to really go through it yet.

Really? I would think you'd go there to at least train. [Guess where they're going now, although it is on the way.]

It's a shame it's not spring yet. The scenery is kind of nice when there isn't snow everywhere.

[exchangeable]

It's a park. There are better places to train around here. [ like the mountains.

At the mention of snow, Asougi kicks at some lightly with his foot. ] Well. It will be something to look forward to, anyway.

[He gives him a curious glance at that.] Well then where have you been training when not at the house?

[exchangeable]

Nowhere dangerous. [ Which is his pointed response. After a moment, he grudgingly adds: ] . . . I haven't settled on a training spot I like yet. I keep moving. But mostly around the port area.

[ryuwrighthistory]

[He'll noticeably relax, seeing that as an acceptable answer.]

. . .I just remembered I said I was going to show you a place you could train. It completely slipped my mind until just now. If you like, I could still show you after we finish shopping.

[ Which in turn helps Asougi relax again. ]

Oh? Where is it?

If you follow one of the streams that flow into Lake Niras, you'll find a clearing with a treehouse. It's secluded and not too far out from town, so you won't run into anything dangerous. Oh, and I think that treehouse has been abandoned for a while, at least I haven't seen any sign of use when I've been there.

Really. [ He seems intrigued by this prospect, though— ] How did you find this out?

[ryuwrighthistory]

. . . [About that. He averts his gaze, scratching his cheek sheepishly.] I got lost handling a task one time.

. . . Somehow, I'm not entirely surprised.

[ryuwrighthistory]

But I wouldn't have found that place otherwise! [That's good, right? They're entering the park area now. There are a few people around also enjoying the weather. There are people ice skating on the frozen lake and a few food stands setup along the path.]

[exchangeable]

Mmhmm.

[ It's like he's giving him half credit, which is something, at least. Though he's also more distracted by the park itself, smiling just a bit at the sight of the skaters on the frozen lake. ] . . . Well. It looks like it's still nice here, even during the winter.

[Maybe it was the calm atmosphere the park was giving off that causes Naruhodou lean into Asougi. Or maybe he's just warm.]

I'd come here to study sometimes. They always have different food stands on display when I visit.

Hmm. I'm not surprised you'd pick up on that, either.

[ But he's just teasing. Asougi smiles over at him a bit more before his eyes stray again to look around the park. ] Have you tried any of them?

Only a few of them. [He will let that teasing slide, since he's currently looking attentively around for something.] There's this one noodle stand I like to order from. They have a standard menu, but they also have daily specials using different ingredients from the usual. Their turtleduck and seafood noodle soups are pretty good.

Interesting. In other words, it's a good idea to see what they have whenever I'm around here, because it may be different.

[ He raises an eyebrow at him at that, but doesn't question what he's trying to find just yet. ]
