Stance. Confidence. And more of it than you would think carries over from my sword training, which I have been keeping up with.

[He hums quietly.] All right. [He nudges Asougi so he could stand where he was.] Help me with my stance then. [Confidence will just have to come with time, and sword training is out the window.]

[ He steps over, letting Naruhodou fall into place, and reaches around to rest his hands on his shoulders. ]

You need to keep your back straight, first and foremost. Shoulders squared, eyes straight forward.

(Back straight, shoulders squared. . .) [ Should be simple stuff, but he's repeating it in his mind anyway to make sure he's doing this right. The result is him standing like a stiff tree.]

And get out of your own head. Your motions need to be fluid. [ He squeezes his shoulders at that. ] It's why I told you to stop before.

Ah. [He tries, but it's hard for him. Now he's too relaxed in his stance.] Sorry.

[ He slides his hands down, resting them on Naruhodou's arms so he can help adjust his stance. ]

. . . Tell me if this is too distracting.

[Oh.] . . .It's fine. [Eventhough his cheeks are going red. It was actually helping to keep him out of his head, and he was making adjustments more quickly. Anytime his stance seem off, Asougi was right there to fix it.] Better?

Try it again.

[ He smiles softly, staying there. ]

[He nods, taking a deep breath. He raises his bow, drawing it back. His hands were still not steady, but the stance feels better, more natural.]

[ He curls his fingers around his arm lightly, reassuring him. Be confident. ]

[He tightens his hold on the bowstring, eyes forward on the target. He lets loose, the arrow scrapping the arrows that were already in the tree, but he manages to land a hit. It wasn't quite dead center, but it was close.]

. . . Better.

[He gives himself a breather before bringing back his focus.] Stay with me. [He takes another arrow from his quiver, preparing to take aim again.]

I'm not going anywhere.

[ He stays where he is, fingers still curled around his arm and all. ]

[He nods. The second arrow will land a hit, and another. They all still keep missing the mark though. The fourth one brings the same result, but Naruhodou will suddenly jerk his head back. For just a second, his vision went dark as he puts his hand over his eyes.]

— are you alright?

[ He leans in, concerned. ]

I- [He shakes his head. He's not in pain, just that he couldn't see anything for some reason. He blinks several times until his vision slowly returns.] I don't know? [He puts his hand over his eyes again.] Everything went dark all of the sudden.

. . . let's stop for now.

[ He squeezes at his arm gently before sliding his hand back, resting it on his shoulder again. ]

[He nods, completely in agreement with him this time around. He glances over at the tree with bewilderment, as if it had done something to him.]

We should...take down those arrows. [He's still shaken up, but his vision is at least back to normal.]

Sit down and drink something. I'll take care of the arrows.

[ He pulls away from him, heading over to the tree at that. ]

But- [He frowns, but ends up doing as he's told once Asougi moves away from him, settling down where they had been eating. Maybe that's what it was. Maybe he was more tired than he thought and really needed to just call it a day.]

[ He pulls the arrows out carefully, putting them back in their quivers once he's finished, and then steps back over to sit down next to him, glancing over at him. ]

. . . Better?

[He puts down his canister, considering Asougi for a moment before slowly nodding.] Like nothing even happened. [He looks understandably confused about it.]

I think...we should practice another time.

[ He frowns, then reaches over to put an arm around Naruhodou, pulling him in a bit. ]

We can do that. This is a good spot for it, at least.
