[ That smirk softens into a smile and he nods slowly. ]

I know, Naruhodou.

[...He sighs.] You always know what to say every time. [There's no bite behind it his words, and he was smiling back. He moves to stand, still holding onto Asougi's hand.]

Then it's official! I'd say we go somewhere to celebrate, but. . .I'm sure we'd rather stay home today. [It'll probably be busy everywhere today. He rests his free hand under his chin, looking thoughtful.] And I expect we'll be getting our new housemate today too.

New housemate? . . . right, you were serious about that, weren't you.

[ He'd been slightly skeptical at first, but the more he saw Naruhodou actually preparing, the more serious he realized it was. ]

[He nods enthusiastically]

I think having one of those chocobos will prove helpful one day! And have you seen how fluffy they are? [This is most important.]

I can only hope that Wagahai will behave.

[ It's a genuine concern, okay. ]

Oh, right. [He didn't think about that. They do start small first.] I suppose it could stay with us at night, at least.

. . . In our room?

[ Though that begs the question of which room is "our" room. ]

Well, yea. I don't think the alternative would be a better solution. [Do you want Holmes to care for the bird instead?]

Or whichever room we're not using, I could keep it there and lock the door....but then neither of us would hear it if it woke up feeling hungry or something.

Is it . . . going to have a crate or something like that?

Ah, yes! I've already made a nest for it too. [He sounds rather pleased with himself.] I put it in my room for now. It's a free roaming type of bird though, so it shouldn't be in there the whole time.

[A thought then suddenly occurs to him.] You should come with me when I pick it up. Holmes too.

[ Well . . . if it's in a crate or whatever at night, that's not so bad. ]

I'll come with you.

[A nod.] It'll make taking care of it easier if it saw all of us together. I read something about a how bird will imprint on the first they see when they hatch as their parent. [Those are regular birds though, not a chocobo.]

Is that right . . . ?

[ Sounds fake but okay. He rubs at Naruhodou's hand lightly with his thumb. ]

Yea. I wonder if we should take Wagahai too. . .

[He glances down to the hand that was still holding onto Asougi's. He tugs at it gently, as if asking him to stand up with him.]

I doubt she'd want to go out for very long.

[ He rises to his feet finally. ]

[For just a split second, he came forward and looked like he was about to do or say something to him, but then stops, averting his gaze.]

Ah, yea. . .you may be right. [...People kiss when they love someone right? So why couldn't he do it?]

[ He catches that though and sighs good naturedly, tugging at his hand. ]

Naruhodou. — honestly.

[ And he lifts his other hand to Naruhodou's cheek, leaning in. ]

-Sorry! [He blurts out all of a sudden, though not to what Asougi was doing.] I-I mean-

[His hand was on his cheek, his was leaning in. He's committed to this, and in someway it manages to help Naruhodou overcome that last step and meet his boyfriend's lips properly.]

[ It's a light, gentle kiss, though he's not easing in just for Naruhodou's sake. This is uncharted territory for him, too, and he might be more hung up over small details like where to put his hands if he weren't focusing on helping Naruhodou relax. He keeps it simple, only breaking it off naturally after a moment to lean forward, resting his forehead against Naruhodou's. ]

[The gentler approach was just the right amount of contact that it didn't start to feel awkward for him. When their lips part, his face was flushed. He could hear his own heartbeat, still beating quickly. He actually managed to kiss someone, his own best friend.

His lips go thin as he recalled how it felt. It was...well he didn't dislike it. It was hard to describe how it felt really. In the end he just smiles, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead against his boyfriend's.] Was that really your first time. . .?

Shut up.

[ But he murmurs that retort, with no real heat behind it. It was nice, just being here, close to his partner. ]

[He frowns a little at that, opening his eyes. It turns into a smile as he laughs softly.] I'll do better next time.

. . . hmm. See that you do.

[ He's just teasing though, and he chuckles at that. ]
