Eheh, well. . .[He leans back, smiling sheepishly] I just like staying in a nice warm bed, I guess. I mean, if nothing is going on, then there's no reason to be up so early, right?
[He lifts his head, looking to his friend now boyfriend for a moment. He raises a hand, pressing it against his cheek for a moment before running it through his hair.]
I suppose I wouldn't want to miss spending time with you. [He leans forward, nuzzling his nose against his. Their were so close. His cheek were flushed, and he could feel Asougi's breath against his skin. Several times they've gotten this close, but never fully commit, or maybe Naruhodou just wasn't sure if it was the right time to push forward.]
[He leans into the touch, closing his eyes.] . . .I thought things would be fine, after I told myself I wouldn't be seeing you again. It had been so long that it was starting to feel normal. [He comes forward, resting his head on his shoulder and pressing against his head.] Now I can't even imagine that life without you.
[He embraces Asougi once more, squeezing him gently and trembling slightly.] The more I spent time with you here, the more I realized what I had been feeling was love, that I wanted to share a part of myself with you.
[ As Naruhodou embraces him, Asougi shifts his position just a bit, so he can draw his arms around him in turn, pulling him in close and rubbing at his back quietly. He looks contemplative for a moment before he speaks again. ]
. . . I didn't realize it for the longest while. Or maybe I didn't want to, but. After everything else, ignoring it felt . . . [ His voice trails off. He'd always skirted around talking about his "death" and subsequent return to society and the world in general, but he'd be lying if he said that didn't affect how he looked at things. ] I couldn't. I didn't want to.
. . .You've been holding yourself back on so many things, because you were so focused on your mission back home. [He pulls back, resting a hand in his hair.]
Well, that's home and this is here. I think it's ok, to allow yourself some happiness while you're here, right?
[He closes his eyes, leaning into the touch. It was nice, to be able to fully enjoy this without worrying about whether he should or shouldn't be anymore. He lowers his hand to put it over his.]
Thought what. . .? [That could honestly mean anything.]
[ Which encompasses a lot of it, still. That Naruhodou would feel the same way, that he'd be open to it, that he himself would be open to it, that they'd even somehow get to this point . . . ]
. . .Because it wouldn't be back home. [Thinking about it more, it puts a frown on his face. This won't be forever will it? He's seen his descendant afterall. He shakes his head.]
It's not wrong though, is it? As long as we're both happy, why should it matter what should or shouldn't be?
. . . you have a point. [ It's a difficult point for him to really grasp, to let sink in. Back home — and even here, in his own way — it was all about duty and honor. Anything else was . . . ] It's not wrong.
[He takes the hand that was on his cheek and holds it in both of his.] Then...it's fine. There's no need to rush into this. We can figure out what this means as we go.
[He smiles up at him, tilting his head slightly.] I'm happy I can have this with you.
[ He curls his fingers around Naruhodou's clasped hands, giving him a quiet smile. ]
Happy, huh. [ Why is that such a novel concept for them? They've had a rough go of it, haven't they? If anyone deserves this, it's them — but it's still difficult for him to accept such a selfish thought. ] . . . Yeah. I'd like that.
[ Asougi huffs again at that, giving him a flat look. ]
You know I only say what I mean, Naruhodou Ryuunosuke. Posturing is more your territory, I believe. [ And at that, he smirks over at him, clearly trying to needle him in turn. ]
[...He sighs.] You always know what to say every time. [There's no bite behind it his words, and he was smiling back. He moves to stand, still holding onto Asougi's hand.]
Then it's official! I'd say we go somewhere to celebrate, but. . .I'm sure we'd rather stay home today. [It'll probably be busy everywhere today. He rests his free hand under his chin, looking thoughtful.] And I expect we'll be getting our new housemate today too.

[ It's an old argument of theirs at this point, so there's no real heat behind those words. ]

Somehow, I feel like you'd say that no matter what. [ He draws his hand down, resting it on his cheek. ] But I'm not complaining.

Home will always be waiting for us. For now. . .we should make the most of our time here together.

Well. I won't argue with that sentiment. [ He lifts a hand to his cheek again, rubbing at it with his thumb idly. ] . . . I never thought that . . .
[ His voice trails off. There's a number of different ways he could finish that sentence, all of them true. ]

Are you really up to the challenge, Asougi? [He may as well say it in a language his boyfriend would understand.]

I think having one of those chocobos will prove helpful one day! And have you seen how fluffy they are? [This is most important.]
